WEDDING IN PAHANG
Singapore Straits Times 25 March
The first European wedding solemnized in Pahang took place at Raub on the 16th inst., the contracting parties being Mr. Charles W. Paul of New York, and Miss Alice Sarah Bibby (Dolly) eldest daughter of Mr. W. Bibby, Manager of the Raub mines.
The Rev. Frank Haines, Chaplain of Selangor, conducted the marriage ceremony at the residence of the Bride’s father. The bridegroom was supported by Mr. Arthur Bibby as best man, and the bride, who was dressed in a handsome gown of white brocaded silk (especially made in Kemaman) trimmed elaborately with white chiffon and sprays of orange blossom with a white felt hat, trimmed with white plumes to match, was attended by her father and by her two sisters, Miss Edith Bibby and Miss Nelly Bibby, who acted as bridesmaids and were gowned in white silk with picture hats to match.
